Unique stands up to the challenges of 2020
Unique Window Systems has risen to the challenges the first half of 2020 has thrown at the company; sustaining its delivery of a first-class level of service to its customers and showcasing the talented team Unique have at their disposal to continue the company’s success.
Unprecedented – a word we have heard an unprecedented amount of times since February! Unique has already overcome extraordinary challenges, with the Coronavirus pandemic, and all the complications it has caused, examining the resilience of the company in brand new ways.
March saw Unique close its doors temporarily as instructed by the UK government. Whilst allowed to reopen in May, Unique had already put in place strict social distancing measures to protect suppliers, clients, and its employees: screen guards at its trade counter, hand sanitizer stations around the company and floor directions to aid social distancing are just some examples of the actions taken by Unique to ensure its premises were as safe as possible for all.
As lockdown restrictions have eased, both Trade and Commercial divisions have seen very promising sales trends, particularly the bi-folding door market as homeowners are spending more time in their properties than ever before. Furthermore, news of the government’s £5,000 Green Homes Grant, which has been confirmed to include double-glazing and energy-efficient doors, is set to see further residential spending upon the scheme’s launch in September.
As a Leicester-based company, Unique has faced further complications as a business with a local lockdown being imposed within the city. The company’s directors, concerned with the rising level of COVID-19 cases in the city, had already chosen to temporarily close off access to its trade counter and showroom. Protecting the Unique team is always the company’s highest priority and, whilst the company continues to work at full capacity operationally for its customers, the decision to proactively limit public visitors is a necessary measure to safeguard the health of their staff.
It has become very challenging to try and predict what this year will next throw at us, however what 2020 has highlighted so far is that Unique Window Systems are confident they can handle whatever comes next, both in the short and longer-term future.
